THE DREAM

The dream of Pretty Crafty came from the love to create of Dar. She has dreamed her entire life of an "unending" supply of crafts. "If only I could have.........
Dar dared to dream of a store that could provide her every need, her love to create begins our story.

Enter Jon - husband, partner and the weekend warrior. Every Sunday Jon would drive Dar from craft store to craft store always listening to her incessant chatter - “I really need..........." or "isn't that the cutest thing you ever saw?"

Jon in the back of his mind had a dream of his own – it included a log cabin in the mountains, Dar crafting, Jon burning and Sundays spent rocking on the deck of their new log cabin. His dream was to always be able to enjoy the pristine views of the Smokey Mountains. Could these two dreams come together?

One rainy weekend in November Jon and Dar were working on the construction of the new log home. Jon knowing they have to head back to Florida in the morning wanted to take a break and go for a ride. Into town they go.

Riding down the road towards “Maggie” Dar yells “STOP, look at that” – there was her dream store. She called the real estate agent and off to the first peak of Pretty Crafty. An offer was made and the story unfolds……………….

Jon returns to Florida and shows Cindy the new home to be…….. She has already fallen in love with North Carolina and has wanted to retire there for a long time. This could be a dream come true for her as well. Cindy loves to do needlework, and embroidery. She used to design jewelry when she was young (very) – enter partner number three.

The three partners joined hands and have been working on giving life to Pretty Crafty for over a year.

The three partners have loved the challenge of building a new business and seeing a dream come to fruition.

Their philosophy is that this is “your” craft store, they want the store to be a part of the dream of all not just theirs. They want to be able to service everyone in their crafting and creative ideas. The love to create is a basic part of everyone and sometimes just needs a few “boxes” undone and “shelves” stocked to spark an idea that lay dormant.
